Portlights
Portlights are windows mounted close to waterline that must withstand high pressure and stress exerted by water.
Standard portlights come complete with deadlights.
1. PORTLIGHTS are manufactured according to the following standards:
- opening portlights: ISO 1751
- fixed portlights: IS0 1751
- A0 and A60 portlights
We hold the following certificates: DNL, GL, LR, ABS, PRS, CCS
2. GLASS FOR PORTLIGHTS
- glass for portlights: ISO 1095
- electrically heated glass: ISO 1095
- fire resistant glass: ISO 1095, IMO Res. A.754(18)
Portlights may be made of:
- Brass
- Steel
- Acid resistant steel
- Non-magnetic steel
- Stainless steel
- Carbon steel
3. Aluminium alloy
We hold certificates issued by the following classification societies: DNV, GL, LR, LRS, ABS, PRS, CCS, SBG, BV
Portlights may be made of 8-, 10-, 12-, 15-, 19-, 25 mm tempered glass.
At the customer’s request, we also use insulated glass units and laminated glass. The glass is mounted in the frame with a rubber gasket, glass holder and bolts made of acid resistant steel or brass.
Depending on the customer’s requirements, glass may be secured with protective film, polycarbonate boards, polypropylene boards, fibreboards or plywood boards that are removed after the windows have been mounted.
